Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! Yes, that’s right I said Thanksgiving week not day. And seeing how our invitation to your Thanksgiving dinner party must have gotten lost in the mail… we have to give thanks for all of our amazing fans on the days before and after the “big day.” We also won’t be open on Thanksgiving because we need to spend a little quality time with family, outside of the brewery that is.
So, in honor of Thanksgiving and because we think Diebolt Beer pairs exceptionally well with turkey and all the usual fixin’s (hell, even ham if that’s what you’re into) we will be open on Wednesday this week. Not only will we be open from 4-10pm this Wednesday, we’ll be offering our Thanksgiving growler special: $10 growler fills of all our beers. So even if you can’t see our smiling faces around the Thanksgiving centerpiece, you can share our family beer with your family.
Here’s what we will be drinking with our thanksgiving meal this year.
For appetizers we’re having grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, charcuterie with cheese, a fig tapenade on a baguette; which all pair nicely with the crisp and refreshing malt profile of our French Ale, Anton Francois. For the main course our Saison Voila complements almost anything and is our go to for the variety of flavors in a Thanksgiving main course. We are having the traditional dinner with roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cranberries. The effervescent carbonation of the Saison lifts the fats from the turkey and gravy while cutting through the starchy potatoes, cleansing the palate for the next bite or two…or ten.
Finally dessert: apple pie with vanilla ice cream and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. What’s the dessert beer of choice? You guessed it: Diebolt’s Standard Porter. With its rich chocolate/coffee flavors and slight creamy finish, this porter pairs well with any dessert. If you’re truly adventurous or just out of pie, drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream right into the Porter for a holiday dessert worthy of much thanks.
From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving and A Votre Sante.
